You have a story that deserves to be shared!

You have a story that needs to be shared! I know when you read that, you immediately think, “I’m not that special,” “Nothing is interesting about me,” and “No one cares.” Do not let that doubt and negativity steal the joy and inspiration your people will find through your story!

Telling your story will attract your ideal client and reinvigorate the passion that led you to start your business in the first place! I know it’s intimidating. You probably never intentionally thought about it and didn’t know where to start. That’s completely normal! You are not alone! Your story deserves to be shouted from the rooftop for all to hear, and I am here to help!

Here are three easy ways to ensure your story is woven throughout your business in a way that speaks directly to your target audience.

  1. Be YOU!

There are loads of people in your industry offering similar products and services as you are, but there is only one YOU. Your ideal client will be attracted to who YOU are, not just what you offer. If we are honest, they can get something similar from somewhere else. Do not be afraid to be yourself. Nothing is worse than feeling you must change who you are to attract the clients you want. You and your clients will both be disappointed and frustrated.

  1. Be Transparent

Your clients want to be included in your process! Your story is about how you manage your business day in and day out. Share about your family and those who support you and motivate you to press forward when times get rough. Share your struggles and your victories. Your clients want to hear both!

  1. Be Personable

No one wants to do business with someone that cannot relate to them. Your audience needs you to be able to empathize with them. To be able to understand and share their feelings. You can give others hope and inspiration by telling them how you’ve overcome obstacles in your own life.

Let me tell you a little about myself and my story. I will be married for 13 years this year. My wife Lacey and I have two boys. My 6-year old been diagnosed with Autism and my 7-year-old with ADHD. We don’t let that diagnosis define them but instead learn from them. I’m convinced God led my wife into being a social worker just to keep us all sane!

I learn so much from my youngest, who is on the spectrum. He is so true to himself no matter what anyone thinks or says about him. If you see us around town in Baton Rouge, you may see him in his favorite superhero costume, with two right shoes on or fully decked out with a button-down shirt and a bowtie. He reminds me that inner joy and peace come from being authentic and genuine to who you are instead of trying to mimic and please others.

Lifestyle photos of you and your family can easily show your clients who you are out of the office. I am passionate about capturing your family’s personality the way it truly is. This doesn’t mean canned shots of you fussing at your kids to smile. This means capturing your children interacting with you so others can see your love for one another.

This is just one way to capture your story in a way that compels your audience.
